WHO IS AJ .

We cant be afraid to change.

you can feel very secure in the pond that you are in, but if you never venture out of it, you will never know that there is such a thing as an ocean, a sea.

 AJ Missaghi completed his bachelor’s degree in Digital Systems & Robotics in 1998 and since then has extended his technology knowledge and skills, working with some very large Australian customers in industries such as, Telecommunications, Postal, Energy, Banking, Automotive, and Healthcare and is currently the Chief Technology Officer of Dell Technology’s Healthcare and Life Sciences business in Asia Pacific & Japan.

 In addition to the currency, depth and breadth of his technical skills AJ brings an optimistic, confident yet considered personal style which is key to his success in many major change programs he has architected and lead. AJ is often sought out to lead discussion workshops and strategy engagements to bring new thinking often leading to change engagements.

To date AJ has co-founded and developed a number of organisations such as CatalystAi, Automation Robotics Information (ARI) Labs and Mind Health Matters where he is observing the continual growth and success of these organisations from a distance as an advisory Board member.

Many interesting change programs he has lead or played a significant role in

AJ was brought in to help lead the Enterprise Compute Platform Program and later the Technology Investment Program. As the Lead Program Architect for these initiatives AJ was leading a team of architects that were responsible for planning, architecture and strategy of the programs ensuring alignment with Australia Post Corporate Technology Architecture Council directions as well as ongoing day to day operational and delivery aspects of the programs.

Key outcomes of these programs of work included:

  • Simplification of the technology landscape.
  • Uplift and develop Australia Post technical capabilities to align with and enable the Australia Post 5 year strategic plans to be delivered
  • Reduction in the total number of national data centres from 8 to 2 (being 1 primary and 1 secondary data centre).
  • Introduced capabilities that allowed transition from a being predominately a 'letters' business to an Ecommerce and parcels business - this essentially required the introduction of a 2 speed operating model that allowed Australia Post to support the traditional letters business as well as accommodate the rapid growth of parcels business.

AJ was the Principal consultant and Enterprise Architect assisting the Airport Leadership team with the development, support and delivery of the operating model shift to enable the Airports growth and provide the necessary refresh of the legacy technology environment. 

Key Outcomes delivered

  • Technology to support growth in the terminal upgrades as well as development of a new terminal (Terminal 4 for domestic travel). 
  • Introduction of an Enterprise Data platform to support - enabling airports staff to perform deep analytics of its operations to support the establishment of new lines of business, products and services. 

Australia’s changing landscape in the Automotive Manufacturing industry has shifted – as a result Toyota Motor Company (TMC) to shift its focus towards services including but not limited to introduction of new platforms to provide Toyota customers with a significantly improved experience.

AJ and his team worked with TMC to develop a set of technology priorities which aligned with TMC’s new business model. So, developed a set of strategies to allow TMC technology to become less infrastructure centric and more application and value focused.
